Global Friends Scholarship Contest for Work and Travel USA 2021!
Global Friends is delighted to offer our applicants the opportunity to participate in the Global Friends Scholarship Contest! This scholarship allows students, who would not otherwise be able to participate (or experience significant financial hardships) the opportunity to be a part of the Global Friends Work & Travel USA program.
Based on the Global Friends Scholarship Contest we will choose 5 DISTINGUISHED PARTICIPANTS!!!
The participant who wins FIRST place will receive a 100% discount for all of the services provided by Global Friends.
***Global Friends will fully cover the Work and Travel USA program fee
The participant pays $0 for program participation
The participant who wins the SECOND place will receive a 50% discount for all of the services provided by Global Friends.
***Global Friends will cover 50% of the Work and Travel USA program fee
The Participant only pays $1625 for program participation
Participants who win the THIRD, FOURTH, and FIFTH place will receive a 25% discount for all of the services provided by Global Friends
***Global Friends will cover 25% of the Work and Travel USA program fee
The Participant only pays $2435 for program participation

Global Friends Scholarship Contest ELIGIBILITY:
– Be a full-time student of ANY accredited university in Uzbekistan (1st, 2nd, or 3rd-year students)
– Be 18 to 24 years old
– Confidently handle stress, anxiety, and 4 months away from your family.
– Demonstrate that you understand and respect the purpose of the program
– Demonstrate strong ties with Uzbekistan with the ability and intention to return home upon completion of the program and before the beginning of Introduction week at your University
In order to apply for the Global Friends Scholarship Contest the applicant:

- May also (optionally) to take a creative video to answer the questions in the application form
The student’s personal statement must be a 250-500 word essay, or a 1-2 minute video link on the following topic. An applicant is allowed to submit an essay AND video to increase their chances of winning.
GLOBAL FRIENDS SCHOLARSHIP TIMELINE:
21th of October – Start of the Global Friends Scholarship Contest.
4th of November – Deadline to submit an entry.
16th of November – Global Friends announces winners of the Global Friends Scholarship Contest.

1. I have already paid for the program; can I participate in the contest?
Yes. You may. If you win the contest, your money will be refunded prior to the beginning of the program.
2. If I win the scholarship, what will I get? What’s not covered?
- 25-100% discount to all services INCLUDING Sponsor fees.
- Assistance with preparing J-1 Visa documents required by Visa Sponsors

3. I study at the local University, can I participate?
Yes, you may, as long as you meet the eligibility requirements.
4. What if I win the scholarship but choose not to participate in the program?
Unfortunately, we will not be able to reschedule your participation for next year but you may apply every year.
5. Can I transfer my participation/scholarship to my friend/relative?
No, you can’t.
6. What if I get a visa denied?
Global Friends will cover all fees associated with your visa denial to the sponsor. You will not be eligible for any refunds.
7. I have registered through another agency; can I still apply for the Global Friends Scholarship Contest?
The yearly contest was designed to allow students who would not otherwise be able to participate (or experience significant financial hardships) the opportunity to be a part of the program. If you had an opportunity to register through another agency, we discourage applying for this contest as you might take a place away from a participant who might really need it.
8. I am 17 now but will turn 18 before the end of May. Can I apply for the Global Friends Scholarship Contest?
No, you need to be 18 years of age to apply for the scholarship.
9. Can I submit an essay only? Can I submit a video only?
Yes, you can submit only an essay or only a video, however, your chances to win the contest will significantly increase if you submit both.
10. What visa sponsor am I going to be placed at?
Depending on your individual preferences in position choice, we will assign you to a specific Sponsor. All of our partners are great visa company sponsors, and all of the students receive the exact same services.
11. Will I be able to choose my own job?
Yes, you will be offered a number of locations and job offers to choose from just like any other participant of ours.
12. If I win the scholarship, do I need to pay anything to Global Friends?
If you win a 100% scholarship – No, you will only be responsible to pay the US consulate fee for the visa interview, flight ticket and have pocket money.
If you get second place, you will only need to pay 50% of the program fee and US consulate fee for the visa interview, flight ticket and have pocket money.
If you get third, fourth, or fifth place, you will only need to pay 75% of the program fee and US consulate fee for the visa interview, flight ticket and have pocket money.
There are no additional or hidden fees beyond that.
13. How many students from Tashkent will apply for the scholarship?
We usually experience high demand for scholarship contests.
14. Will you provide any certificate?
We will provide certificates to the winners only.
15. Will scholarship increase my chances to get a US visa?
Technically, being the winner of the scholarship shows the Embassy you are a reliable student that meets eligibility criteria who knows everything about the program and beyond that.
Global Friend’s Scholarship Winner receives a recommendation Letter from our agency which you may use for the embassy.
16. Can Foundation students apply for the scholarship?

17. Can both myself and my friend file applications together.
Yes, you absolutely can. Keep in mind we have no tolerance for any plagiarism. Complete your own application.
18. How can I submit the video?
You need to upload it to Youtube or Google drive and provide us with the link for the video.
